It is finally time for me to test the market with my own networking event. After years of networking and marketing urban events (comedy, nightlife, spoken word,and open mics) it is now time to bring Business together for a night of mixing and mingling. Networking events are very beneficial to entrepreneurs and clients alike. Clients are able to be exposed to new and trendy concepts that they love, and entrepreneurs are able to establish lasting business relationship in our great city of Atlanta. Statics show, that a new business in being created every minute of the day. I can co-sign on that. Since the start of me incorporating my business, I have seen countless business arise from out of no where. Some from the effects, of the economy but mostly from he love of owning their own businesses. My previous years have brought me to this point of providing services to other business owners and affiliates. It is now time for me to be a blessing to someone else. I figure i can do this by "not keeping my relationship secret" but by allowing others to mix and mingle for the benefit of successful collaborations and the prospect of new customer retentions.

Family is way more important than business

I apologize for not posting lately to Pdammond.com, but I had to take sometime out for my nephews. It's important that young men have at least one person that they can look up too. I have been told by my mother that I'm that person. It made me think and slow down for a brief second.

It's always important to give back whenever you can whether it's with family or not. The good feeling you get for doing something for someone else is reward enough and I'd like to believe that God admires the energy you radiate back to him for job well done.

Can a Life be planned?

A friend made a comment to me today that made me think. Her comment was, “You can not plan your life”. Her comment was motivated by the fact that she had a plan for her life to be a little different than what it is today. When I asked her what her plans were. She told me that she had planned to be happily married with 3 children by the time she turned 30. At this point, she is not married and does not have any children; however, she has attained a level of academic greatness. She is 29 years of age. She has her PhD in Physical Therapy and her career is taking off to great heights.

I disagree with her comment. I believe that you can plan for particular things to happen in your life, however, you just have to be ready for the end results. My take on it is that she could have had a child if that was what she wanted most of all. She might not have attained the level of education within the same time frame, but as long as she’s sexually active a child was always possible. Marriage was always possible.

In short, we have choices in life. It is up to us to determine what choice makes us happier. I believe that if you take an aggressive approach to making things happen in you life then you will not have any regrets no matter what.

Pressure is an effect which occurs when a force is applied on a surface.

However, everything done under pressure comes out great. Have you ever thought about how good food taste when you slowly cook it in a pressure cooker. Pressure allows for the meat to be marinated in its own juices, similar to an achiever who masters his obstacles head on. An individual who finally achieve the goal that he set out to achieve will bath in greatness no matter how long it takes.

It’s a known fact, that once you’ve accomplish your goals no matter how intense the strain may have been, the end results are always delicious.

In short, don’t break under pressure. Allow yourself to bend and marinate in your own flavor. Now back to work and as a country boy would say, “Get her done”!

The spirit of a hustler fly about in New York

I recently traveled to New York to Network, kick it with a friend, and to see what all the New York hype was about. I road the subway, which was very convenient. I meet a few interesting people, and ran into a lady by the name of Diana more than once. You would never think to see someone twice in a city as massive as New York. I attended a Comedy show at HA comedy lounge. I ate a true New York style pizza that was amazing. I meet a music producer and an Author who is close friends with Kanye West and Brianna. The author's name is Sakiya Sandifer and his book is called, "Thank you and Your Welcome with Kanye West and Think, Think, Think, and Think again".

What I found is that like most people who live in their city they rarely ever get to enjoy it. My close friend, Brianna Michelle, was a fine example of that. She has been there for over a year now. I believe that she told me that she really hadn't had the time or took the time to move about the city for fun like we did the week I was there. I guess it's always more fun traveling with someone that doing it by yourself.

While I was there I felt that hustlers spirit flying about the city. Everywhere you go, someone is trying to sell you something. Everywhere you go, you can name your price. Everything is negotiable.

Believe it or not, while I was there I only saw one small mouse, not a Cat size Rat that most say live in the Subways. The streets had a city order, but was not that overbearing like most claim the streets to be. Don't be mistaken the streets are dirty, but no more than any other highly populated city.

I loved my experience there...it was cool. I am now entertaining the thought of moving there. The people and the connects a person can make are endless when it comes to expanding a business.

In short, the hustler spirit lives in New York. Don't be a believer of hype. Be one who believes what their heart tells them and maybe a little of what your eyes see.
