The Music Game shifts
The Music Game shifts
I read an article today that talk about the media shift as it pertains to Record Labels. It is a known fact that CD sells have been declining for years since the intrusion of File sharing, Free down loads, and Pirated Mix CDs. In the past, Record Labels generated the majority of their revenue from the CD sells of their signed Artist.
Today, Record Labels are changing up their format. Now they are tapping into artist revenues from Performances and more, hence the 360 Deal.
The 360 Deal is basically a deal that states that a record labels is entitled to performance revenue, endorsement revenue and more. It's a record labels way of recovering their investment in an Artist, since CDs sells are declining.
It has been said that Record Labels in the future will start to handle business like Music Publishers or Stock Photography entities to generate other means of generating revenue from licensing agreements, and etc.
I guess when it's all said and done my opinion is independent is the way to go. If you handle your business like a business then opportunities will arise.

Piracy via Mix CDs kill the Music Industry
Piracy via Mix-CDs kills the Music Industry
Why are DJs destroying the Music Industry?
For the most part, DJs are paid on a per assignment bases making anywhere from $150.00 a night to thousands a night. It doesn’t surprise me to know that DJs try to make a little extra money on the side selling mix-CDs, especially those DJs who do not really have a big name for themselves quit yet.
I’m never the one to knock someone’s hustle, but when you have a love for music and the entertainment business like I do you can’t help but to see things from a professional eye.
Until, recently I thought Mix-CDs were cool and that mix-CDs from well known DJs actually help to promote upcoming Artist which is the blood line of the Music Industry. This thought process was factitious. Mix-CDs equate to piracy which is basically taking food out of the mouths of Entertainment professionals (Artist, Music executives, Music Attorneys, Directors, Engineers, and more). Piracy has a trickle down effect people.
The follow information was retained from The Recording Industry Association of America website:
One credible analysis by the Institute for Policy Innovation concludes that global music piracy causes $12.5 billion of economic losses every year, 71,060 U.S. jobs lost, a loss of $2.7 billion in workers' earnings, and a loss of $422 million in tax revenues, $291 million in personal income tax and $131 million in lost corporate income and production taxes. For copies of the report, please visit www.ipi.org.
As an Indie Label Owner/Producer and more…It is sad to say but those who support Mix-CDs are really getting a bum deal. Yeah, you think you’re getting more for your money but actually what you are doing is creating an industry that forces you to follow what ever they put in your face…hint, hint. Kind of like how the American Government dictates what we eat, see, and pay for.
Piracy kills New Music, New films, and New Talent. It is like killing and eating a baby chicken before it matures…You will not get the full satisfaction from the meal and eventually chickens will become extinct if they are not allow to mature and reproduce.
If people want to enjoy the pleasure that music brings, it will be important for them not to support Piracy. For those who are interested in the Entertainment Industry is even more important to put a stop to Piracy by any means necessary. Piracy is just another form of Laziness…For those people who I will not identify which have been put down, segregated, ridicule, and falsely accused of being lazy; it is you who are crippling your own success if in fact you support Piracy via Mix-CDs, Bootleg Movies, and etc.
I know it takes time to read, but the information is out there to do things the right way. Please run your business like it’s your business…Stop supporting Piracy

What turns women on more. The smell of a man, or the smell of a woman?
I was watching this show that focuses on Answering Men questions.
The answer to this question believe or not is the smell of another woman, so if you want to turn your lady on...the best way to do it is by hugging your best female friend really closely prior to meeting your woman. I know a lot of ladies out there will disagree with this one, but surveys where done that proved it to be true.

How you can be your greatest hater
How you can be your greatest Hater.
Most of us have heard the saying, "You are your worst enemy". I believe this can be so true. We are our greatest Hater. We as people can tend to let Pride ruin great things, even our lives. Pride comes from self...maybe even selfish thinking. Pride keeps us from working with others that we should work with. Pride can handicap your goals if it gets the best of you. As a seeker of greatness, it is important to tame the inner Hater called pride.
Humility is what we should all strive for...A good technique in conquering pride is listening. Don't be so quick to respond defensively. Sometimes, it's better to be flexible by being able to bend than it is to be firm, which can lead to a break... Usually ending in something broken.

Soft drama in your life is okay
A little Soft drama never hurt anybody
At times, people get so hung up on the negative. They forget to look at the positives in most situations. I believe it's okay to have a little drama in your life. No crazy mess, but Soft drama is okay. For example: Death can lead to having a very dramatizing day depending on who dies and how close you were to them.
Soft drama, sells tickets. Soft drama is what fuels reality TV. It's that type of drama that's not catastrophic that makes us aware of our existences. Soft drama to me is your everyday relationship quarrels, your fender benders, your lights getting cut off, and your hamster just died type of thing.
Soft drama is bearable.
In short, Live life to the fullest and don't let Soft drams become your Hard knock life drama

Nick Cannon twitters Eminem about the Mariah Diss
Nick Cannon with his wife Mariah Carey
Nick Cannon blast back on twitter
I heard about the so called beef between Eminem and Nick Cannon a while back so I'm not sure why I'm just now writing about this. The word on the streets is that Eminem publicly said some disrespectful things in his "Warning Song" about Mariah that would have been disrespectful to any husband. The latest update regarding this is that Nick Cannon have been handling the situation maturely by not feeding into the negativity that Eminem has shelled out. Search for Nick Cannon's twitter page. I hear that he has responded to Eminem indirectly, something a long the line of. "Say something about my wife again and it's on."
Now, I can't leave my viewers hanging without you hearing the song yourself. Check the youtube out, it's below. Sorry Nick, but I would pray to God for forgiveness then handle my business.
Nick's twitter message: "I will permit no man to narrow or degrade my soul by making me hate him. Be patient in the moment of anger and escape a hundred days of sorrow."

Robbing a child of their dream
Child's Dream by Jeff_Michelmann
Robbing a Child of their Dream
I was speaking with a dear friend of mine, who's name I will not use due to her media ties. We spoke about life and several other topics when she made a comment about how people should not tell children that they can be whatever they want to be. She believes that telling children those things gives them a false sense of reality. She reiterates that everyone can not grow up being whatever they want to become. Her argument was support by the fact that there at variables in society that are stack against you such as race, culture, and educational abilities that limit those chances to be successful.
Not everyone has the ability to become the president of the
In short, I agree that in essence you are giving off a false perception in telling a child that that may have certain restriction, but over all I disagree with her.
I believe by telling a child that you can become anything you want to become; In essence, you are giving that child hope which is fueling his imagination to dream. I believe that anything you put you mind to is achievable as long as your plan is well thought out and is conducive to yielding the result you desire.
She believes that God has a destiny for all of us and that just because you want to be the next NFL star or professional ball player, it doesn’t mean that will happen. She later states that God has to give you the message and that whatever that message is then that is what you are to become and will be successful in.
In conclusion,
I agreed with her last statement, and I think her points where valid in some ways. However, I would never rob a child of any dream by telling that child that you can’t become what it is that you want to become because of society or any social status in that life. I know different, because most success stories follow the same reality tag line.
