A year ago Rapp artist Tony Yayo was arrested for allegedly assaulting Czar Entertainment CEO Jimmy Rosemond’s 14 year-old son. Tony Yayo appeared in court today (Jan 10).
To our surprise, it has been reported that the New York District Attorney has been withholding vital evidence that may prove that Tony Yayo is innocent.
Supposedly, Lawell Fletcher has previously confessed to being the person who assaulted Rosemond’s son. This confession came about during two previous interviews with detectives investigating the case on the date of Aug 8th at Rikers Island. Fletcher actually told detectives that Yayo had attempted to restrain him from assaulting Rosemond’s son.
The District Attorney has until Jan, 18th to inform the defense, if they plan to use Fletcher statements.
Leemon has stated that Feb, 1st will be the deadline, if he plans to file all motions to the court, including a motion to have Yayo tried separately.
Both parties are meeting the judge on Feb 14th. The case is scheduled to go to trial March 31st.
Let’s see how this turns out we’ll keep you up to date.
